Exclusive: Black Caviar for Sale!

The undefeated champion, Black Caviar is up for sale!

The 25-year-old mare is being offered for sale by her current owner, Neil Werrett. Werrett has confirmed that the horse is currently in great health and is available for inspection by potential buyers.

"Black Caviar is the best sprinter I have ever seen," Werrett said in a statement on Monday. "She has given us all so much pleasure and it's time for her to go to a new home where she can continue to thrive."

Werrett went on to say that he has had numerous offers for the horse but has yet to reach an agreement with any of them. It's believed that Black Caviar could fetch up to $10 million at auction.

This news comes just a few months after the tragic death of Australian racehorse, Winx. Winx was widely considered to be the greatest racehorse in the world and held numerous records including being undefeated in her 26 starts.

It will be interesting to see if Black Caviar can eclipse Winx's legacy and become the new queen of Australian racing.

What is Caviar?

Caviar is a type of food made from eggs of fish, most often sturgeon. The term caviar usually refers only to roe from wild fish. The roe can be processed in different ways, but black caviar refers to eggs that have been treated with salt and then dried. Usually, black caviar is packed in jars or tins.

Caviar has a long history as a prized food item. It has been served at royal banquets and was once so expensive that it was considered a status symbol for the wealthy. Today, caviar remains a popular luxury item, but it is also available at more affordable prices.
